General Questions

How many pieces can I submit?

You can submit as many pieces as you wish! Please make sure your files are clearly labelled if you’re submitting more than one piece, as we’ll use this information when promoting your work.

Who can submit?

The open call is open to anyone anywhere in the world. We’ll take care of the printing and promoting of the book. You’ll need to be over the age of 18 to enter.

Is there a charge?

There’s no charge to enter or have your work shared if selected.

What’s the best way to respond to the theme?

Whichever way you like. Surprise us with your creativity and unique outlook on the world. There are no wrong answers – whatever your interpretation of the prompt is great.

About the book

How will The Uncook Book be published?

We’re exploring different ways to publish the book. Things like approaching publishers, self-publishing and crowd-funding. We’re also planning a book launch event at some point next year.

Where will the book be sold?

We have big ambitions for where we want to sell the book. One place it will definitely be sold is through our website, but we’re working to get it stocked in some of our favourite book shops too.

How will I know if my work has been selected for the book?

After the submission deadline has passed, we’ll review all the entries and, together with our science partners, select the submissions that best express the real recipes to unbake our planet. We’ll do our best to contact everyone who has been selected, so please keep an eye on your emails for updates.

Will I be credited in the book?

Yes! Every piece of work we select will be credited. Please include your information when you upload your entry as we might use it in the book!

What will you do with the profits from the sale of the book?

We will donate them to Friends of the Earth.
